A Gemini’s preference can be quite versatile. Variety is the spice of life as they see it and are constantly curious about anything quirky. They love to try new things and let their imagination run wild. Since Geminis couldn’t possibly choose between sour and sweet, they need something that caters to both their cravings. The Andhra Pradesh Safeda is for them. The skin is a vibrant yellow, so you expect to be biting into a nectarous pulp, oh but surprise surprise, the fibreless pulp is a beautiful blend of sweet and slightly sour. It’s one of the earliest variety of mangoes to hit the market in April and lasts till June.

Sign: Cancer
Mango type: Mankurad

It takes time to get to know a Cancerian as they tend to be sensitive and shy, and have an emotional personality, but they project a tough exterior. Once you get to know them, you will find that they are the most caring and trustworthy. Cancerians would prefer a mango variety that’s layered - tough on the outside, but inside, it’s full of sweet, tropical goodness. The Mankurad mango is the perfect fit. This Indian mango variety is firm-fleshed, but its golden succulence can satisfy anyone. Goans believe that this mango variety is iconic and an epitome of their culture, and has the most luscious flavour of all.

Leos are minglers, filled with energy, are generous and love being in the spotlight. Leos need a mango variety that’s a little over-the-top, impossible to ignore and always lets its presence felt. Kesar is the mango for Leos because it stands out in a crowd, and its intense aroma is hard to ignore. They are grown largely in and around the Ahmedabad region of Gujarat, and during peak season you can sniff out their orchards from miles away. Mango type: Dussehri

Libras are charming, graceful, and popular. People just can’t get enough of Libras, just like kids and adults can’t get enough of Dussehri mangoes. Name one person who doesn’t like this mango variety. Anyone? Nope. Kids around the world call Dussehri the ‘chusne wala aam’ because it is best enjoyed by first pressing the mango slightly with your fingertips to soften it, and then cutting or tearing off the tip and sucking out the sweet pulp and juice like you would a lollipop. The international globetrotter Sagittarius is always thirsty for knowledge and happiest when exploring new places. They are straightforward and have a knack to look at the bigger picture. When it comes to their cravings, they know exactly what they want. The Himsagar mango aligns well with this astrological sign. These yellow mangoes last for only four weeks but that doesn’t deter their popularity. Fans of this variety don’t waste time to procure it when it hits markets in the first week of May, and indulge in them all-month long.

Sign: Capricorn
Mango type: Langra

A Capricorn is practical with a strong sense of ambition. Capricorns are go-getters who are never deterred by things that stand in the way of their climb to the top. They aren’t frivolous at all. Rather, they are realistic and traditional in their choices. The Langra mango may literally mean a disabled person, but that has not stopped this mango from being one of the most popular and superior mango varieties in India. Its pulp is soft and succulent. The mother tree of this variety still grows in Varanasi and it is cultivated in parts of North India. The fibrous mango is popular and much sought-after in West Bengal, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It is greenish-yellow and the season lasts from Mid-July to August

Sign: Aquarius
Mango type: Pairi

Aquarians may be determined visionaries who want to make the world a better place, but when it comes to their food choices, they are stubborn and prefer home-grown and authentic goodness. Since an Aquarian has a flair for flavour, we recommend the delicious and indigenous Pairi. Their coat has a reddish tinge, and biting into them is like digging into honey, but not sickly sweet—just perfect. Its rich flavour makes it a popular choice for desserts like halwa, shrikhand, and its juiciness makes it ideal for milkshakes.

Sign: Pisces
Mango type: Chausa

A Piscean is selfless and spiritual, and very responsive to the thoughts and feelings of others. They are completely guided by their feelings, have simple preferences and usually like to go with the flow and please others; just like the Chausa. When most of us think that the mango season is coming to an end, Chausa mangoes infiltrate the market in August to spread joy again. They have the characteristic bright yellow skin and incredibly sweet pulp, and high nutritional value.  North India and Bihar revers this variety as one of the best.
