When it comes to late night drinking in college dorms or girlie nights, Vodka is the drink that comes to the mind. This liquor has been a favourite for many experimental cocktails. Here are some that you must try this season.
If you're in search for a healthy-ish cocktail, we'll have to suggest Bloody Mary. A glass of oh-so-healthy tomato juice is spiked with vodka and flavoured with spices to pack an extra punch.
In a whisky glass, add some crushed ice. Muddle four blackberries, in a mixing glass, with the juice of half a lime and 2 tsp sugar. Pour 90 ml vodka, stir and serve.
A very popular cocktail in South American nations, Caipiroska uses vodka instead of the local preference of cachaca (used in making Caipirinha). The traditional method involves muddling sugar and lime, but this is a much simpler way to make the cocktail at home.
In a cocktail or martini glass, add some crushed ice and keep aside. In a cocktail shaker, mix 45 ml each of apple juice and lemon with 15ml sour mix. Top off with 90ml vodka and serve in the martini glass.
Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw and the girl gang of Sex and the City, just couldn't get enough of this potent pink cocktail. When made well, it is a flavourful mix of sweet and sour with a solid vodka punch. We have to mention, this one takes a bit of practice.
Rub lime on the rim of a cocktail or a highball glass and dip it in coarse salt. Fill half the glass with ice. Pour 30-45 ml vodka; top it off with grape juice, stir and serve.
In a tumbler glass, put some ice cubes. Mix 60ml vodka with 30ml Kahlua, top it with milk and serve.
