All the vegetarians in the house, these mushroom recipes are your quick and easy meal saviours.

Whether you like your mushrooms grilled, sautéed or simply boiled, they’re full of good-for-your-health vitamins and minerals. From the different varieties of mushrooms available out there, only a few are edible – Button, Chanterelle, Shiitake, Oyster, Porcini. All of these are good sources of protein, fibre, vitamin B, and selenium, a type of antioxidant. A study published in the Journal of American College of Nutrition in 2015 found that shiitake mushrooms, in particular, played an important role in boosting the immune system when eaten frequently. White button mushrooms, on the other hand, are known to be a good source of vitamin D which is vital to your body. However, it’s important to note that when you consume mushrooms that aren’t edible, you could face severe tummy upset, vomiting, hallucinations, liver failure and in some cases even death.

While mushrooms can even be enjoyed in their raw form, its best to always cook them first. Here are some recipes to help you get started:
