India’s lockdown against Coronavirus is perhaps the best time to focus on your fitness goals (remember your new year’s resolution?). If you’re lacking enthusiasm and motivation, may we point you towards our Bollywood celebrities who’re working those core muscles regularly. Take  Jacqueline Fernandez for example, who is showing people how to slay the yoga game at home, while Katrina Kaif is letting her followers in on her no-equipment, at-home routine designed by trainer Yasmin Karachiwala. Actor and supermom Mandira Bedi refuses to give up on her 365-day workout challenge even when stuck at home, and Shilpa Shetty shows us how to make the most of a staircase.

We’ve compiled a list of all the fitness enthusiast B-town celebrities who have shared free workout routines so we all can keep fit while we stay at home and practice social distancing.

Sara Ali Khan’s Tabata workout

Love Aaj Kal actress is swearing by this approx. three-minute Tabata workout, a high intensity interval training, during her home quarantine. This circuit includes eight rounds of intense exercises for 20 seconds with 10 seconds between sets. Sara Ali Khan’s exercise routine includes burpees, squat jumps, mountain climbers, jumping jacks, reverse lunges, and high plank. Sara’s routine is aimed to test one’s strength, balance, and endurance.

108 Surya Namasakars with Jacqueline Fernandez

Practicing Surya Namaskar, a sequence of 12 powerful yoga asanas (poses), daily is one of the secrets behind Jacqueline Fernandez’s fit body. To ensure her fans can reap its benefits, Fernandez posted a video on Instagram on how to perform surya namaskar at home. This yoga sequence is a great alternative for a workout incorporating elements of traditional cardio that work on your abs, thighs, and butt. As you develop endurance you can increase the number of Surya Namaskars you can do at a go—Fernandez revealed she has been doing it 108 times daily. Surya Namaskar is also known to battle insomnia, bring down blood sugar levels, and more.

Stair squats with Shilpa Shetty

Pump up the heart rate up with Shilpa Shetty’s quick no-equipment exercise; she’s using a staircase at her home as an example of best utilization of resources. In this particular video, we see her performing exercises sets on her building’s stairs. In her caption, she reveals that this free workout routine can be practiced during any time of the day, preferably an hour after a meal. She also urges us to exercise at least four times a week to build stronger immunity.

Mandira Bedi’s 365-day workout challenge

The 47-year-old’s inspiring fitness transformation has been the talk of the town since the past couple of years. In November 2019, Mandira Bedi took up the 365-day workout challenge and not even the lockdown has stalled her efforts. While the gyms are shut, she has been sweating it out at home and recently, she posted a 12-minute circuit on Instagram so her fans and followers could join her too. The circuit includes squats, planks, and jumping jacks. While she does five sets of this, she suggests you begin with at least a couple.

Healthy living with Deepika Padukone

Now, Deepika Padukone’s Instagram posts may not tell you how to and how much to exercise but it can easily be your guide to ‘self-care tips during Coronavirus quarantine’. Hence, she deserves a special mention. The
Padmaavat star is not only inspiring people to get up and keep moving (case in point, the cardio video above), but also to take care of their skin, eat/drink healthy, declutter, spend quality time with your loved ones and, most importantly, LAUGH! We’re still ROFLing over the video clip she posted of Katrina Kaif washing utensils and how the Sooryavanshi actress stole her idea!

Feeling inspired by these Bollywood celebrities’ fitness hustle? We thought so.

But wait, here’s an important point to remember: Just because a celebrity is following a very specific workout routine does not mean you need to ape it. You need to understand your body, set your own goals and continue at your own pace or you can run the risk of severe injuries.
