Let’s make weekends great again.

If there is one thing that is helping us get by on a dull and dreary Monday, it is dreaming about the weekend breakfast at JW Marriott’s Bombay Baking Company - French toasts drizzled with honey, piles of pancakes topped with blueberry preserve, bowlfuls of fruits and fresh juices.

What’s hot

Let’s quickly get to the best part – it will let you catch up on a few hours of extra sleep on lazy weekends, because the timings are 7 am to 1 pm. It is not legit to start weekends before noon and finally someone heard our complaints; most breakfast places shut shop by 11 am to prepare for lunch.

Poised as a premium café, the all-American breakfast spread consists of favourites like waffles, eggs benedict, poached eggs on a bed of bacon and beans served on toast, egg-in-a-hole stuffed in mini buns and a whole lot more.

The fruit servings are generous and you could even sprinkle them on your pancakes, French toasts or waffles.

Bombay Baking Company is popular as a meeting place for professionals and it was about time they introduced a breakfast menu for morning appointments. Cold cuts and cheese platters are easier options for sharing and strong coffee with croissants for those on the run.

What’s not

To end on a sweet note, cinnamon-dusted doughnuts and custard-filled danishes seemed like the best bet. But, the ones we tried were not fresh and despite our distaste for food wastage, we couldn’t eat beyond two bites. A friendly neighbourhood café, like Theobroma, offers delicious and fresh croissants, muffins, doughnuts and danishes to complete a lavish breakfast.

Atleast this contributed towards discouraging us from consuming sugar and we patted ourselves on the back.

Breakfast for two: INR 2000 (approx.)
Address: Bombay Baking Company, JW Marriott, Juhu Tara Road, Juhu, Mumbai
