Evian has added another designer to its list of star collaborations. To design its latest limited edition glass bottle, launched on February 25, 2019, the bottled mineral water brand brought on board the multitalented Louis Vuitton men's artistic director, Virgil Abloh.
Eagerly awaited by fashionistas and fans of the Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director, the 750 ml glass Evian bottle by Virgil Abloh will soon be available in limited quantities at select retail locations in the US, and in Europe at locations listed on the brand’s global website. It will also be available at Paris’s La Grande Epicerie and Berlin’s KADEWE, starting early March 2019.

Rainbow in a Drop
Abloh’s design features several coloured spots symbolising the colours of the rainbow, echoing the concept that “one drop can make a rainbow”. The collaboration also includes a refillable Soma glass water bottle with an easy grip protective silicone sleeve.
The sleek design resembles that of the water filtration company’s pre-existing bamboo-capped glass bottles but sports an Evian logo on the side along with the slogan “Rainbow Inside” penned by Abloh. The bottles, priced at US$48 (approximately Rs 3,400), are available in pink, purple, bright blue or dark blue via luxury retailer Matchesfashion.com.
Abloh and Evian announced back in December 2018 that the designer would be joining the mineral water brand as Creative Advisor for Sustainable Innovation Design. The brand signed up the American designer to help transform its design process with the aim of making it more sustainable, as well as seeking solutions for a more environmentally-responsible future.
Billing their joint initiative as a “long-term global multi-project collaboration”, the brand and designer revealed their plans to align Evian’s sustainability goals – namely of becoming a “100% circular brand” by 2025 – with Abloh’s wide-ranging design sensibilities. Evian has now revealed its first release with Abloh, a water bottle created in collaboration with Soma. Abloh will also help design upcoming Evian products.
The multitalented Abloh is the founder of the Off-White fashion label and the creative director of the Louis Vuitton men’s line. The passionate and pioneering 38-year-old’s expertise extends beyond the fashion world, with skills including DJing and architecture.

Evian has previously signed up Maison Lacroix, Paul Smith and Jean-Paul Gaultier to come up with designs for its glass water bottle. Abloh has previously branched out from fashion with collaborations including furniture design for Ikea and designing a Moët & Chandon champagne bottle.
