5 of the Dreamiest Boats on Show at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019

These boats are designed to be a sailors dream come true

No fewer than 638 boats took over the Canto Marina in Cannes for the French Riviera city's Yachting Festival, which was on 10-13 September, 2019. This veritable high mass of nautical luxury is one of the industry's biggest, as well as a perfect occasion to see those literal dreamboats up close. Check out the sheer size, good looks and technological innovations of these five can't-miss discoveries.

The superstar
Gunboat 68
At “only” 17,800 kg, the 21-meter-long cruising catamaran's maiden exhibition proves that the star of Cannes 2019 is a beauty inside and out, with constructor Gunboat working with Christophe Chedal Anglay and Patrick Le Quément to handle the interior design. French sailor Loïck Peyron also helped design the now-famous boat.

The sustainable boat
Silent 55S2
The Silent 55 is crossing over to all-electric propulsion. The luxury catamaran was presented at last year's Cannes, and is back this year in an ever more refined version, with solar panels that allow it to cruise using 100% electric power. The power of the engine and batteries are what mostly sets it apart from last year's version, with a maximum speed of up to 185 knots. Comfort-wise, it includes five cabins that can accommodate ten people.

Intrigue on the high seas
Sunreef 80
Curious visitors won't be able to resist getting a good look at Sunreef Yachts' versatile sailboat, the comfort and sheer size of which was enough for tennis star Rafael Nadal to acquire his own. The multihull is a luxurious gem with teak finishes and a 54 sq m upper deck delivering optimal vistas. It's also perfect for an optional jacuzzi, or sunbathing while enjoying a bar with a barbecue grill. The tennis champion should be getting the keys to his own sometime next year.

The titan
Baglietto 48M T-line
At 47.6 meters long, 9.50 meters wide and 430 tons, it's needless to say, the new Baglietto will turn heads. This yacht will be the biggest on display during the “other” Cannes festival. Inside the mastodon, visitors will find six cabins and room for 12 guests, who will revel in the motor-powered boat's infinity pool and gym. The spaces, such as the master suite on the main deck, are roomy enough to give the vessel the allure of a floating mansion.

The sneak preview
Arcadia Sherpa XL
Italian constructor Arcadia Yachts will be sorely awaited in Cannes for the world premiere of its latest Sherpa, complete with solar panels. The fireball is an innovation in the 85-to-90-foot category thanks to the design of its interior along the entire 24-meter length. In total, a living space of 220 square meters welcomes the passengers and captain. The event is all the more momentous as Arcadia is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.
