Luckily for you, LF scoured the wedding menus of top celebrities to give you premium culinary inspiration for your D-Day!
Priyanka Chopra and
Nick Jonas aka #NickYanka
How OTT was the #NickYanka wedding you ask? Well, in the groom’s words, it was 1,00,047 receptions extra! Deepika Padukone and
Ranveer Singh aka #DeepVeer
Bollywood’s it couple chose to go for an intimate yet dreamy wedding away from the prying eyes of fans and the media. Like #NickYanka, B-town’s Bajirao and Mastani had two wedding ceremonies as well. The Konkani nuptials on November 14, 2018, were followed by the Anand Karaj on November 15, keeping with Ranveer’s Sindhi traditions.
On the Menu: During the Konkani ceremony, #DeepVeer guests were treated to an authentic Konkani spread which included puran poli, rasam, dalitoy, bibbe upkari and puliyogare. The wedding menu also featured Deepika’s favourite masala dosa. Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal aka #AmbaniWedding
If you thought the #NickYanka wedding was OTT, the #AmbaniWedding was the talk of the town throughout 2018 with functions that seemed like a monthly affair.
On the Menu: On their wedding day, December 12, 2018, the high-profile couple and their VVIP guests dined on a menu that featured exquisite French dishes on one side and traditional vegetarian Gujarati fare on the other. Taking the lavishness a notch higher, the meals were served in custom-made cutlery and crockery. A team of food stylists, flown down from Paris, had styled each dish served at the #AmbaniWedding. A variety of premium desserts, including chocolates from around the world, summed up the dining experience. This wasn’t all. We yet have to talk about the couple’s reception menu! At the glittering reception, guests were treated to the best of Mediterranean, Thai and Japanese cuisines, apart from traditional Indian delicacies, of course! Ladurée, a French luxury bakery and sweet maker house, served an assortment of desserts such as truffles and macarons at the #AmbaniWedding reception. *cries in a corner for missing out on so many delicious treats*
Sonam Kapoor and
Anand Ahuja aka #SonamKiShaadi
In comparison to the above multi-function weddings, Sonam’s was a relatively intimate affair at her aunt’s mansion in Bandra dotted with loved ones and the who’s who of Bollywood.
On the Menu: Bhavnesh Sawhney, co-founder of Wednishka, the wedding wizards who organised #SonamKiShaadi, welcomed food curator and celebrity chef Marut Sikka to dish out authentic Mughlai dishes for the wedding guests. The wedding menu also featured popular delicacies from different parts of India, according to DNA. For us, it was the two-tier wedding cake by pastry queen Pooja Dhingra that stole the spotlight. The cake was topped with figurines of a bride dragging her groom out of a basketball court, which captured Anand’s obsession for the sport.
Anushka Sharma and
Virat Kohli aka #VirUshka
Virushka took their saat pheras in a hush-hush wedding ceremony at a beautiful 800-year-old countryside resort in Tuscany, Italy. We still can’t forget the joy that spread across the country when the duo made an unexpected announcement about their wedding via Instagram. The power couple’s D-Day guest list was strictly limited to family and close friends of the actress and cricketer.
On the Menu: According to news reports, celebrity chef and restaurateur Ritu Dalmia took charge of designing the extravagant wedding menu for #VirUshka’s special day. The wedding menu was a combination of Indian and Italian cuisines and included some signature dishes from Dalmia’s Indian restaurant in Italy, Cittamani. Think porcini mushrooms wrapped in Bikaneri roti and ravioli stuffed with paneer khurchan!
