INGREDIENTS

  • 4 to 5 figs
  • 2½ cup refined flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • salt
  • A few crushed walnuts
  • 250 gm sugar
  • 250 gm butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • water
  • Icing sugar

HOW TO PREPARE WALNUT & FIG CAKE

    Make a fig puree by blending the chopped figs in a mixer.

    In a bowl mix refined flour, baking powder, salt, crushed walnuts, sugar and butter.
  3. 3

    Make a soft batter.
  4. 4

    Add eggs and vanilla to the batter and blend well.
  5. 5

    Add the fig puree to the batter and fold lightly.
  6. 6

    Grease the moulds with oil or butter and pour the batter in it.
  7. 7

    Also place some walnuts on it.
  8. 8

    Place the moulds in a tray with water and bake in a pre heated oven at 180 C for 25 minutes.
  9. 9

    Garnish with icing sugar.
