Vermicelli Upma

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup vermicelli
  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 7 - 8 roasted cashew nuts
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp chopped french beans
  • 1 tbsp grated carrot
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp chopped capsicum
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • water
  • salt
  • 8 - 10 roasted peanuts

HOW TO PREPARE VERMICELLI UPMA

  1. 1

    In a pot, add water, salt as per taste, vermicelli and let it boil.
  2. 2

    In another pan, add oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, chana dal, roasted cashews and peanuts.
  3. 3

    Add chopped ginger, chopped onion and saute. Add chopped green chillies, french beans, grated carrot. Add chopped capsicum and let it cook.
  4. 4

    Strain the vermicelli in a bowl. Add salt as per taste, turmeric powder, boiled vermicelli and mix it well.
  5. 5

    Add water and let it steam. Add lemon juice, mix it well and serve.
