  • 1 1/2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp split bengal gram
  • 1 tbsp split black gram
  • 3 tbsp peanuts
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 1 slit green chilli
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  • 1 cup vermicelli
  • salt to taste
  • 1 cup water
  • chopped coriander for garnish

    In a pan, heat oil, add mustard seeds, split bengal gram, split black gram, peanuts and saute for a couple of minutes.

    Next, add the sliced onions, curry leaves, slit green chillies and asafoetida, and saute.

    Put the vermicelli, salt and mix well. Pour the water and let it simmer for a few minutes or till the vermicelli is cooked.

    Serve hot, garnished with coriander.
