Wash sela rice and then soak in some water. In a blender, blend coriander seeds, cinnamon stick, asafoetida, turmeric powder, roughly chopped ginger, green chillies, coriander sprigs, and little water. Blend well. Boil some water in a pan. Strain the rice and add it to the water to boil. For masala, heat oil in a pan. Add the blend coriander chilli mixture. Add fried potatoes and yogurt to this. Mix well. Add boiled rice to this potato mix. Add salt and some hot water. Cover the pan and cook for some time. When rice is cooked, add some fried cashew nuts and grated dried coconut. Cook again for few min. Serve rice with pickle.
