  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • salt
  • ½ tsp carom seeds
  • water
  • oil
  • 2 potatoes
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 6 - 7 kashmiri red chillies
  • 15 gm fresh coriander
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • ghee
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tbsp cashewnuts
  • 1 tbsp khoya
  • salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • water
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder
  • 15 gm fresh coriander
  • 1 lemon

    Procedure to make Tomato Chat: In a bowl add wheat flour, salt, carom seeds, ghee and mix it well.

    Add water and prepare a tight dough.
  3. 3

    Roll out the dough and cut it into small pieces.
  4. 4

    In a pan heat the oil and fry the pieces.
  5. 5

    Peel off the skin of potatoes and add them in a bowl.
  6. 6

    To boil the tomatoes slit them from sides.
  7. 7

    Add the tomatoes in boiling water and let it boil.

    Add Kashmiri red chillies.
  9. 9

    Grate the potatoes, chopped fresh coriander leaves, chopped ginger, salt and crushed black pepper.

    Peel off the skin of boiled tomatoes and prepare a paste of Kashmiri red chilli.

    In a heated pan add ghee, make small tikki of potato paste and fry it until it turns crisp brown from both the sides.

    Roughly chop the tomatoes.

    In a heated pan add ghee, crushed black pepper, Kashmiri red chilli paste, poppy seeds and mix it well.

    Add crushed cashew nuts and stir it.

    Add khoya and let it melt.

    Add boiled chopped tomatoes, add salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, water, dried mango powder, chopped coriander leaves and mix it well.

    In the tomato gravy add lemon juice and mix it well.

    To garnish add aloo ki tikki, namak paare, fresh coriander leaves and tangy Tomato Chaat is ready to serve.
