INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup sela soaked rice
  • Cloves and cardamom
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup sugar syrup
  • 1 tsp condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp Saffron water
  • 8 to 10 chopped almonds
  • 10 to 12 raisins
  • dry coconut sliced
  • water

HOW TO PREPARE TAFTAN

  1. 1

    For the dough combine refined flour, baking soda, ghee, sugar, activated yeast, and milk in a mixing bowl.
  2. 2

    Knead to prepare a dough.
  3. 3

    Make two dumplings from the dough.
  4. 4

    Dust refined flour on the rolling board and roll out the dumplings.
  5. 5

    Sprinkle nigella seeds and melon seeds on the top of the rolled bread.
  6. 6

    Fix these seeds on the bread by a rolling pin.
  7. 7

    Roll the bread on the rolling pin and then gently spread it on a baking tray.
  8. 8

    Remove the pin used to keep the bread on the tray.
  9. 9

    Dock the surface of the bread with a fork.
  10. 10

    Bake in a pre heated oven at 200 C for 15 min.
  11. 11

    Serve hot with black tea and garnish with a lemon wedge.
  12. 12

    Top the black tea with a mint sprig.
