Sweet Potato Dabeli
A typical Gujarati sweet and tangy snack! It's another version of vada pav made from sweet potatoes.

  • 2 pav
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Crushed peanuts
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Sev
  • 1 tsp tamarind chutney
  • For The Masala: 2 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp butter
  • ½ cup boiled and mashed sweet potatoes
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp dabeli masala powder
  • 1 tsp chopped black raisins
  • 2 tsp chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • For Garnish: Peanuts crushed
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Sev
  • Coriander leaves

    Heat oil and butter in a pan.
  2. 2

    Add boiled and mashed sweet potatoes to it.
  3. 3

    Add cumin powder dabeli masala powder, chopped black raisins, chopped coriander, salt, and red chilli powder.

    Switch off the gas and add lemon juice to the mixture.
  5. 5

    Heat butter in another pan.
  6. 6

    Slit the pav from the centre to make two piece of equal size.
  7. 7

    Pan sear them.
  8. 8

    On the base of the pav, add the dabeli mix.
  9. 9

    Top it with crushed peanuts sev, and pomegranate seeds.

    Cover it with other half of the pav.
  11. 11

    Add tamarind chutney on top of the pav.
  12. 12

    Garnish with crushed peanuts pomegranate seeds, sev, and chopped coriander leaves.
