  • For Falafel ½ cup soorti dal boiled
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 2 tsp chopped onion
  • 3 tsp chopped coriander
  • 4 tsp sesame seeds
  • Few lemon leaves
  • 3 tsp water of lemongrass paste
  • 2 tsp tahina paste
  • 2 tsp Peanuts
  • black pepper to taste crushed
  • salt to taste
  • oil as required
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • For Salad 1 Cucumber
  • 1 tsp finely chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp tahina paste
  • 1 tsp Peanuts
  • ½ tsp garlic
  • 2 pita breads
  • salt to taste
  • For Garnish Red chilli powder

    In a blender grind boiled soorti dal, finely chopped garlic, onion, coriander, sesame seeds, few lemon leaves, water of the lemongrass paste, tahina paste, salt and peanuts. Transfer this mixture to a deep bowl, and add a little more finely chopped coriander, sesame seeds, a little oil and crushed black pepper. Mix it well. In a pan, heat oil. Take the falafel mixture in scoop shape and then press it from the top to make a fine round flat shape. Make the rest of the mixture also this way. Fry both sides until the falafel become golden brown. Once fried, transfer it to a serving plate. For the salad, cut the cucumber into thin circles and place it in a bowl. Add cut pita bread. Mix it with salt finely chopped coriander, tahina paste, chopped garlic and peanuts. Transfer it to a plate. Garnish the salad with red chilli powder. Serve the soorti dal falafel with the cucumber salad.
