INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 tbsp desi ghee
  • 1/4 cup cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup sliced coconut
  • 1-litre milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 1 cup custard apple puree
  • FOR garnish
  • sliced coconut
  • cashewnuts
  • mint leaves

HOW TO PREPARE SITAPHAL PAYASAM

  1. 1

    In a pan, add desi ghee, cashew nuts and roast it until it turns golden.
  2. 2

    Remove the cashews in a bowl.
  3. 3

    In the same pan, add sliced coconut and toast it.
  4. 4

    Remove it in the bowl.
  5. 5

    In the same pan, add milk and cook it until it turns thick.
  6. 6

    Add coconut sugar and stir it.
  7. 7

    Add grated coconut and mix it.
  8. 8

    Switch the gas off.
  9. 9

    Add the mixture in a bowl and let it cool.
  10. 10

    Add custard apple puree and mix it.
  11. 11

    Chill it in the refrigerator for 20 - 20 minutes.
  12. 12

    Serve the Kheer in a bowl.
  13. 13

    Garnish with cashew nuts & sliced coconut and mint leaves.
