INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • Butter or oil for greasing
  • 1 cup date paste
  • Sesame seeds as required
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp peanut powder
  • water

PREPARATION

    Add water to a steamer and let it steam. In a deep pan, heat a cup of water and add rice flour to it. Quickly stir to avoid lumps. Stir vigorously until a soft dough is formed. Knead the dough when warm and make an elongated roll. Grease a knife with oil or butter and cut the elongated dough into lemon sized portions. Spread each into a circular disc using your hands. Make smaller balls of the date paste and place in each dough disc. Seal well. In a bowl, combine sesame seeds, peanut powder, and cardamom powder. Dampen your hands and then roll the balls in this mixture. Steam them for 10 15 min. Serve hot.
