INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup toor dal
  • 3 kokum flower
  • 1 tsp methi seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp ginger & 2-inch ginger
  • 2 kashmiri red chillies
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp besan
  • 1 drumstick
  • 100-gram cluster beans
  • 100-gram lady's finger
  • tomato paste
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 5 - 6 garlic cloves
  • curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp tamarind water
  • chopped coriander

PREPARATION

    In a heated pan, add water, toor dal, kokum flower, methi seeds, turmeric powder and let it boil.

    In a blender jar, add chopped tomatoes, ginger, Kashmiri red chillies and prepare a paste. Add the paste in a bowl.

    In a heated pan, add oil, besan and mix it. Pour the dal mixture in the pan. Add water and extract the kokum from it.

    Add chopped drumsticks, cluster beans, lady's finger and mix. Add tomato paste and mix it well. Add salt as per taste and mix it well.

    In a heated pan, add oil, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, ginger and saute. Add curry leaves, red chilli powder and mix.

    Pour the tadka in the kadhi and mix. Add tamarind water, chopped coriander and let it cook.
