INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup clarified butter
  • ½ cup refined flour
  • ½ cup Wheat flour
  • oil for frying
  • Wheat flour for dusting

HOW TO PREPARE SHAKKAR PARE

  1. 1

    Boil milk with caster sugar and clarified butter in a pan.
  2. 2

    In a bowl, add refined flour and wheat flour.
  3. 3

    Using a ladle add the boiled milk mixture in small quantities to form a stiff dough.
  4. 4

    Dust wheat flour on the platform.
  5. 5

    Pinch a large portion from the dough and make a thick roti using a roller.
  6. 6

    With a cutter makes shakkar pare of diamond shape (cut into strips and then cut diagonally).
  7. 7

    Heat oil for deep frying.
  8. 8

    Deep fry the shakkar pare until golden brown.
  9. 9

    Remove on the tissue paper in a plate.
  10. 10

    They will become crisp once cooled.
  11. 11

    Fill in an air tight jar or serve in a serving plate.
