INGREDIENTS

  • 3 fillets rawas
  • salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 4 tbsp oil (for fish frying)
  • For curry
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 1 cup methi
  • salt
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 cup water
  • For sev barfi
  • 1 litre milk
  • 150 gm khoya
  • 1 cup sugar
  • kesar
  • 1 cup sev (unsalted)
  • For garnish
  • vark
  • slices of bell pepper

PREPARATION

    For preparing Fish Curry, transfer fish fillets in a bowl.

    Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, oil and marinate the fish for 10 - 15 minutes.

    In a heated pan, add oil and shallow fry the fish until it turns crispy.
  4. 4

    In a heated pan, add oil, chopped garlic, methi, a pinch of salt and mix it.

    Add the mixture in another pan.

    Add tomato puree and mix well.
  7. 7

    Add salt as per taste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and let it cook.

    Add water and mix it well.

    Add the fried fish and mix it.

    For preparing Sev Barfi, add milk in a heated pan and let it boil.

    Add khoya and stir it.
  12. 12

    Add sugar and let it melt.

    Add kesar, sev and mix it well.
  14. 14

    Transfer the mixture to the tray and let it cool in the fridge for 30 minutes.

    Garnish the Sev Barfi with vark and Thoomwari Macchi with slices of bell peppers and serve it.
