INGREDIENTS

  • FOR Dough
  • 200 gms Refined Flour
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • To taste Salt
  • 1 tsp Suga r
  • Water
  • .
  • FOR Filling
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • ½ tsp Cumin
  • 100 gms Soya Chunks
  • 1 Potato
  • 30 gms Green Peas
  • 30 ml Vegetable Stock
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 2 tsp Aji Amarillo Chilli Paste
  • 2 tbsp Gelatin
  • FOR Garnish
  • 1 tbsp Colby Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Salsa

HOW TO PREPARE SALTENAS

    In a pan melt butter , add cumin, soya mince, mashed potato, green peas, vegetable stock, oregano, aji amarillo chilli paste, salt to taste and cook well.

    Pour the gelatine mix in the pan and let the mixture cool and set in refrigerator for 2 hours.
  3. 3

    In a bowl add flour, salt, sugar, butter, water and make firm dough, rest the dough for 15 minutes.

    Make equal size balls from the dough.
  5. 5

    Roll them into thin round shape.
  6. 6

    Take spoonful of gelatine set mixture and place it on rolled dough, seal it by using pinch and twist method.
  7. 7

    Refrigerate stuffed saltenas for 15 minutes.
  8. 8

    Deep fry saltenas in medium hot oil.
  9. 9

    In a bowl, take tomato salsa and add grated Colby cheese.
  10. 10

    Serve saltenas with cheese salsa.
