INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 chopped green chillies
  • 1 inch chopped ginger
  • 1 whole garlic pod
  • curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp white flour
  • 1 cup water
  • salt
  • 2 tsp malt vinegar
  • 1 tbsp jaggery
  • 2 white pomfret
  • 1 sliced tomato
  • For khichdi
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cinnamon
  • 2 black cardamoms
  • 4 green cardamom
  • 3 to 4 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 cup rice
  • salt
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp ghee

PREPARATION

    In a pan, add oil and let it warm. Add cumin seeds, chopped green chillies, ginger and saute. Add chopped garlic and stir it.

    Add curry leaves, white flour and roast it. Add water and let it cook. Marinate the fish with salt.

    To the curry, add jaggery, malt vinegar and stir it. Add salt as per taste, fish and let it cook. Add sliced tomato and let it cook.

    In a steamer, add oil, bay leaves, cinnamon, black & green cardamom, cloves, turmeric powder and saute.

    Add rice, salt as per taste, water and let it cook. Garnish with ghee.

    Serve the Saas Ni Macchi hot with Khichdi.
