INGREDIENTS

  • 4 fillet of Rohu
  • 4 tbsp mustard oil
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp curd & 1 tbsp onion juice
  • 2 potatoes
  • 6 green cardamom
  • 2 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cloves & 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp onion paste & 1 tsp cumin paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chilli & 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 cup curd & 1 tbsp ghee

HOW TO PREPARE RUI MACCHER KALIA

  1. 1

    Marinate the fish with salt, turmeric powder, curd, onion juice and mix it well.
  2. 2

    In a heated pan, add mustard oil and fry the potato wedges in it until it turns crispy Remove the potatoes in a plate and fry the fish in the same pan.
  3. 3

    In another heated pan, add mustard oil, green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, sliced onion and let it cook.
  4. 4

    Add sugar and let it caramelise Add onion paste and let it cook Add cumin paste, ginger-garlic paste and let it cook.
  5. 5

    Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt as per taste, curd and let it cook Add water, ghee, fried potatoes, fish and let it cook.
  6. 6

    Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
