Rohu Fish Curry
Like fish curry but trying to cook it differently? Try preparing this spicy tomato Bihari fish curry made with a dash of mustard paste and originally from Mithila in Bihar.

INGREDIENTS

  • FOR Rohu Fish
  • 1 onion
  • 10 - 12 garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • oil for frying
  • 2 tomatoes
  • .;
  • FOR Curry
  • 2 - 3 bay leaves
  • salt
  • garlic onion paste
  • salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  • water
  • 1 tsp mustard paste

HOW TO PREPARE ROHU FISH CURRY

    Procedure to make Rohu fish curry: On a grindstone add chopped onions, garlic and grind it.

    Heat a pan on the gas stove.
  3. 3

    In a bowl add fish, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix it and let it marinate.
  4. 4

    In the heated pan add oil and fry the fish in it from one side for 2 - 3 mins.
  5. 5

    In a bowl grate a tomato.
  6. 6

    In the same pan to prepare fish curry, add bay leaves, onion - garlic paste and mix it.
  7. 7

    Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, crushed black pepper, water and stir it.
  8. 8

    Add the grated tomato and let it cook.
  9. 9

    Add water in the gravy and let it boil.
  10. 10

    Add mustard paste, fried fish and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  11. 11

    Garnish Rohu fish curry with fresh coriander leaves and it is ready to serve.
