INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 5 to 7 curry leaves
  • ½ tsp split Bengal gram
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp chopped green chillies
  • 1 cup boiled green peas
  • 1 cup chopped carrot
  • 1 cup semolina (rava)
  • roasted
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Milk as required
  • salt
  • water
  • For Garnish Sev chopped coriander

PREPARATION

    Heat a little clarified butter in a pan and add mustard seeds curry leaves and split Bengal gram. Also add chopped onions chopped green chillies, boiled green peas and chopped carrot. Mix well and cook. Add roasted semolina to this mix and sprinkle a little sugar and salt to give the upma its taste. Pour a little water and milk into another pan and let it boil. Pour this milk into the semolina mixture. Mix well. If required add some more ghee and mix. Transfer the upma to a serving plate. Garnish it with with sev and chopped coriander.
