  • For Prawns Curry
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 8 - 10 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 8 10 curry leaves
  • 1 tsp coconut water
  • 1 tbsp kudampuli (malabar tamarind)
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Coconut water as required
  • ½ cup prawns
  • For Puttu
  • 1 cup cracked wheat soaked
  • ½ cup rice flour roasted
  • salt to taste
  • ½ cup coconut water

    For prawn curry masala in a bowl, add grated coconut, coriander seeds, salt, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, chopped ginger, garlic cloves, coconut oil. Grind the mixture to a smooth paste. Transfer the curry paste to a bowl. In another bowl, add soaked cracked wheat (daliya), toasted rice flour, salt, and coconut water. Mix well. In a puttu maker, add daliya mixture then add grated coconut in alternate layers. Steam puttu. In a pan, add coconut oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, prawn curry masala, coconut water and cook the curry. In a bowl, marinate prawns with salt. Add marinated prawns, Kudampuli (malabar tamarind), coconut milk, and coconut water to the pan and let the curry boil. Delicious puttu with prawns is ready.
