Traditional Indian snacks are too good to resist. Chef Pallavi shares a recipe for one such snack called Pitha. These wheat flour dumplings filled with flavoured and seasoned dal are super tasty. Try this recipe at home.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups soaked chana dal
  • 1 piece ginger
  • 2 - 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • FOR tadka
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 8 - 10 curry leaves
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 3 green chillies

HOW TO PREPARE PITHA

  1. 1

    In a blender jar, add soaked chana dal, ginger, garlic cloves, garam masala and prepare a paste. Boil water in a pan.
  2. 2

    Roll out the dough and add stuffing in it. Seal the dough using a fork. Add it in the boiling water and let it cook.
  3. 3

    For the tadka, add oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried red chillies, green chillies and toss it. Cut the Pitha into half and pour the tadka over it.
