INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1/2 salt
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1 red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • asafoetida
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt

PREPARATION

    In a bowl, add rice, water and let it soak. In a heated pan, add water, salt, soaked rice and let it boil.

    In a heated pan, add oil, fenugreek seeds, red chilli and mix it. Add mustard seeds, a pinch of asafoetida, urad dal, chana dal and mix. Add curry leaves, chopped ginger, green chilli, chopped onion, turmeric powder, salt as per taste.

    In a bowl, add curd, water and mix it. Pour the tadka in the curd mixture and mix it. Leave the curry to rest for an hour.

    Strain the rice and serve with the curry.
