  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/2 cup onions
  • 3-4 dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp tamarind pulp
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • salt
  • For the tempering
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 6-8 curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida

    Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions, dry chillies and tamarind pulp. Sauté them well.

    Grind peanuts, salt and the prepared temper mixture in a mixer grinder. Grind it into a medium coarse powder.

    Heat oil in a pan add urad dal, mustard seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida.

    Sauté it well.

    Add the tempering over the chutney.
