INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 100 gm moong dal
  • water as required
  • 250-300 gm grated jaggery
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp coconut pieces

PREPARATION

    Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and fry the moong dal till it turns fragrant. Add water and salt and mix well. Cover the pressure cooker and pressure cook the dal.

    Add jaggery and cook till the jaggery melts. Then add cardamom powder and mix well.

    In a frying pan, heat ghee and fry cashew nuts and coconut pieces till light brown. Garnish the payasam with coconut and cashew nuts.
