INGREDIENTS

  • For the batter
  • 1 cup bengal gram flour
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup oil for deep frying
  • betel leaves
  • For topping
  • curd
  • sweet chutney
  • salt
  • red chilli powder
  • cumin seed powder
  • green chutney
  • nylon sev

PREPARATION

    For the batter: In a mixing bowl, add bengal gram flour, red chilli powder, salt, asafoetida and water. Mix it well until you have a smooth batter.

    Heat oil in a Kadai. Dip betel leaves into the batter and deep-fry until they turn golden brown.

    Place the fried betel leaves onto a plate and top it off with curd, sweet chutney, salt, red chilli powder, cumin seed powder and green chutney.

    Sprinkle nylon sev over it.

    Your paan chaat is ready to be served.
