Orange & Almond Shortbread Bars
These home-baked energy bars are just perfect for kids. Loaded with almonds and dates and drizzled with orange essence, these are the best energy bars ever.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Refined flour
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp sugar, Milk as required
  • FOR topping
  • 2eggs
  • 2-3 tbsp almonds chopped
  • 1-2 tbsp dates chopped
  • 1-2 tbsp orange zest
  • 1-2 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup condensed milk
  • FOR garnish
  • Colour candies

HOW TO PREPARE ORANGE & ALMOND SHORTBREAD BARS

    For the dough, mix refined flour, butter, sugar, and milk.

    Mix well to make a dough.
  3. 3

    Line the baking dish with the dough.
  4. 4

    Ensure there are no air gaps; tap evenly with hands.
  5. 5

    Bake in a pre-heated oven for 10 min at 180 C.
  6. 6

    In another bowl, beat eggs, chopped almonds, chopped dates, orange zest, vanilla essence, and condensed milk.
  7. 7

    Pour this mixture on the baked biscuit and bake again.
  8. 8

    Unmould and cut into small bars.
  9. 9

    Arrange the bars in the serving plate.
  10. 10

    Garnish with some colour candies.
