  • For the chutney
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 3-5 dry red chillies
  • 2 tsp bengal gram
  • 6-7 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tamarind
  • salt
  • water
  • For the tempering
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 3-5 curry leaves

    Heat oil in a saucepan. Add red chillies, bengal gram, chopped garlic cloves and chopped onions. Sauté them well.

    Transfer this mixture into a mixer grinder. Then, add tamarind, salt and water. Grind it to a smooth paste and transfer the blended mixture into a bowl.

    For the tempering: Heat oil in a saucepan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Sauté them well.

    Pour this tempering over the blended onion mixture in the bowl and mix it well with a spoon.
