Holi calls for a lot of sweets and one such Holi special sweet is Malpua. Chef Shipra Khanna gives a twist to the traditional malpua and makes it using a waffle maker. Try this recipe at home. It never fails to impress.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup khoya
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Saffron strands
  • Cardamom powder
  • For garnish: Chopped dry fruits

HOW TO PREPARE NRI MALPUA

    In a bowl, add all-purpose flour, baking soda, khoya, butter, milk and mix it well.

    In a heated pan, add water, sugar, a pinch of saffron strands and leave it to melt Add cardamom powder and stir.
  3. 3

    In a waffle maker, add butter, batter and leave it to cook until it turns crispy and golden Dip the Malpua in the sugar syrup.

    Garnish with chopped dry fruits and serve.
