INGREDIENTS

  • 500 gms Bhavnagri chillies
  • Water
  • 90 gms alum
  • Salt
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 100 gms khoya
  • 100 gms kalakand
  • 100 gms coconut powder
  • 150 gms sugar
  • Cardamom powder
  • Rose water
  • Silver warq
  • Pistachios
  • Red bell papper

HOW TO PREPARE MIRCHI KA HALWA

  1. 1

    Remove stem from Bhavnagri chillies and cut them into half vertically.
  2. 2

    Add alum to water and soak the chillies in water for 30 minutes.
  3. 3

    Blanch the chillies in the water and add a pinch of salt to the boiling water.
  4. 4

    Drain the chillies and repeat this process three more times.
  5. 5

    Drain the chillies and make a paste.
  6. 6

    Warm ghee saute chillies paste till it leaves the sides of pan.
  7. 7

    Add khoya, kalakand and mix well.
  8. 8

    Add ghee and saute.
  9. 9

    Add coconut powder, sugar cardamom powder and saute till sugar is cooked.
  10. 10

    Add rose water and mix well.
  11. 11

    Pour Halwa in a squar mould.
  12. 12

    Demould and garnish with silver warq, Pistachios and Red bell papper slices cooked in sugar syrup and rolled like cylender.
