Masala Rice Biryani
Pooja Bedi joins Zarine in the kitchen and prepares a one pot meal with rice. This masala biryani recipe is mildly spiced and is ideal for days when you are running out of ideas of what to cook.

  • For Masala Rice Biryani: 500 gm rice
  • water
  • 3 chopped onions
  • oil
  • 5 green cardamoms
  • 3 cinnaman sticks
  • 10 cloves
  • 1 chopped onion
  • salt
  • 5 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 500 gm rice
  • water
  • 5 green chillies
  • 10 mint leaves
  • chopped coriander

    Procedure to make Masala Rice Biryani: In a bowl add rice, water and let it soak.

    In a heated pan add oil, green cardamoms, cinnamon sticks, cloves, sliced onions and cook it until turns light brown.

    Add salt, red chilli paste, chopped tomatoes and mix it well.

    Strain out the water from the rice in a bowl.
  5. 5

    Add the strained rice into the masala.

    Add water, whole green chillies, mint leaves, freshly chopped coriander leaves, mix it and let it cook.

    Once cooked Masala Rice Biryani is ready to serve.
