Malaysian Fish Rice

  • 1 Seer fish fillets
  • salt
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • onion chilli chutney
  • 1 tsp tamarind paste
  • 5 to 6 shallots chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 tsp Thai chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • onion chilli chutney as required
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • 1 to 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • chilli sauce
  • Boiled Egg
  • coriander

    In a bowl marinate fish with salt, turmeric powder, onion chilli chutney, and tamarind paste.

    For chilli sauce, heat oil in a pan, add dried red chillies, chopped shallots, garlic, Thai ginger, turmeric powder, coconut milk, and roasted peanuts.

    Cook well.

    Wrap the marinated fish in a banana leaf.
  5. 5

    Heat oil in a grill pan.
  6. 6

    Add the wrapped fish and sear it.
  7. 7

    Serve the grilled fish with chilli sauce and halved boiled egg.
  8. 8

    Garnish with coriander leaves.
