INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Sweet corn kernels
  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 to 5 curry leaves
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 cup carrots
  • 3 tsp dry coconut
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp green chilli
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • water
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 8 to 10 French beans
  • 8 to 10 coconut

HOW TO PREPARE MAKAI UPMA

    For Makai Upma: Ground the corn kernels in a grinder.
  2. 2

    Then take a Kadai or a pan, add oil, cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  3. 3

    Let it crackle.
  4. 4

    Add curry leaves ginger and grated coconut and mix it well with a spatula.
  5. 5

    Add turmeric powder, green chillies, salt and black pepper.
  6. 6

    Mix the corn kernels mixture with it.
  7. 7

    Pour some water and salt into it and allow it to cook for 3 4 minutes.
  8. 8

    Sprinkle coriander leaves and lime juice on the upma and transfer it into a fresh bowl.
  9. 9

    For side dish: In the same kadai or pan, add French beans, grated coconut, coriander leaves, salt, sliced coconut leaves and oil.
  10. 10

    Mix all the ingredients well.
  11. 11

    Serve it with Makai Upma.
