INGREDIENTS

  • For mahni
  • 3 tbsp mustard oil
  • 10 cloves and 2 mace
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • pinch of nutmeg powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 cup soaked black gram
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 1/2 tbsp jaggery
  • 2 green chillies
  • 2 cup water
  • salt
  • For sugar syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • saffron strands
  • For mitha
  • 3 grated potatoes
  • 3 cup water
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 cloves
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp muskmelon seeds
  • 1/2 cup cashews, almonds, raisins, pistachios
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

PREPARATION

    In a heated pan add mustard oil, cloves, mace, fennel seeds, nutmeg powder.

    Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and let it cook.
  3. 3

    Add soaked black gram, water and let it boil.
  4. 4

    In a bowl, add rice flour, water and mix it.
  5. 5

    Add the rice flour in the Mahni.
  6. 6

    Add jaggery, chopped green chilli and mix.
  7. 7

    For preparing Sugar syrup, add water in a pan, sugar, water and let it melt.

    Add saffron strands, a pinch of salt.

    For preparing Mitha, grate potatoes in a bowl.

    Add water and wast the grated potatoes.

    In a heated pan, add ghee, cinnamon sticks, cloves, dry mango powder, salt and mix it.

    Add fennel seeds, muskmelon seeds, cashews, almonds, raisins, pistachios, turmeric powder and toast it until it turns golden brown.

    Add grated potatoes and toss it.

    Add sugar syrup and let it cook.

    Once cooked serve it hot.
