INGREDIENTS

  • For dal
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 2 chopped green chillies
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt
  • water
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 cup soaked black dal
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • For arbi ki sabzi
  • 250 gm arbi
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp crushed garlic
  • 1 cup onion paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt
  • water
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • For garnish
  • ghee
  • coriander leaves

PREPARATION

    In a heated pan, add oil, cumin seeds, chopped garlic, ginger, green chillies and saute. Add sliced onion and let it cook.

    Add red chilli powder, salt as per taste, turmeric powder, coriander powder and stir it nicely.
  3. 3

    Add soaked black dal and mix it. Add water and leave it to cook. Add chopped tomatoes and let it cook.

    For Arbi ki Sabzi, in a heated pan, add oil, cumin seeds and let it splutter. Add crushed garlic and saute.

    Add onion paste and saute. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt as per taste and stir it.

    Add chopped arbi and mix it well. Add water and let it cook. Add buttermilk and let it cook.
  7. 7

    Garnish it with ghee, coriander leaves and serve.
