INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp clarified butter; 1 cup black gram beans soaked; 1 cup red kidney beans soaked; 1 cup green gram beans soaked; 2 to 3 bay leaves; 6 to 7 black and green cardamoms; 1 tsp ginger juliennes; 1 cup onions chopped; 1 cup chopped Tomatoes; 1 tsp garam masala; 1 tsp coriander powder; 1 tsp Fresh cream; salt to taste; water; For Garnish:Ginger juliennes; Fresh cream

HOW TO PREPARE MAA KI DAL

    In a bowl mix together the soaked black gram beans, soaked red kidney beans, and soaked green gram beans.

    ; Heat clarified butter in a deep pan.

    ; Add bay leaves and cardamoms.
  4. 4

    ; Fry till fragrant.
  5. 5

    ; Add julienned ginger and chopped onions.
  6. 6

    ; Saute well.

    ; Add chopped tomatoes.
  8. 8

    ; Saute well and add the soaked dal mixture.
  9. 9

    ; Add garam masala, coriander powder, and salt.

    ; Saute well and pour water to cover the dal.

    ; Put on the lid and allow the dal to boil.

    ; Once boiled put off the flame and add fresh cream.

    ; Give a stir.

    ; Garnish the dal with fresh cream and julienned ginger.
