  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • 1 cup black gram beans soaked
  • 1 cup red kidney beans soaked
  • 1 cup green gram beans soaked
  • 2 to 3 bay leaves
  • 6 to 7 black and green cardamoms
  • 1 tsp ginger juliennes
  • 1 cup onions chopped
  • 1 cup chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Fresh cream
  • salt to taste
  • water
  • For Garnish Ginger juliennes
  • Fresh cream

    In a bowl mix together the soaked black gram beans, soaked red kidney beans, and soaked green gram beans. Heat clarified butter in a deep pan. Add bay leaves and cardamoms. Fry till fragrant. Add julienned ginger and chopped onions. Saute well. Add chopped tomatoes. Saute well and add the soaked dal mixture. Add garam masala, coriander powder, and salt. Saute well and pour water to cover the dal. Put on the lid and allow the dal to boil. Once boiled put off the flame and add fresh cream. Give a stir. Garnish the dal with fresh cream and julienned ginger. Serve hot.
