INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • 1 cup grated bottle gourd
  • 1 cup condensed milk solids
  • 5 to 6 tbsp caster sugar
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • For Garnish: Pistachio powder
  • Cashew nuts

HOW TO PREPARE LAUKI KA HALWA

  1. 1

    Heat clarified butter in a pan and add the grated bottle gourd and fry well.
  2. 2

    Let the bottle gourd release its water content.
  3. 3

    Cook till the bottle gourd turns brown.
  4. 4

    Add the condensed milk solids and mix well.
  5. 5

    Also add caster sugar and mix again.
  6. 6

    Evaporate the excess water.
  7. 7

    Add cardamom powder and again mix well.
  8. 8

    Garnish the halwa with pistachio powder and cashew nuts and serve.
