  • 3 to 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 cup split Bengal gram
  • soaked for an hour
  • 1 cup bottle gourd
  • peeled and chopped
  • salt to taste
  • water
  • For Garnish: Coriander leaves
  • Tomato slice

    Heat oil in a pan.

    Add finely chopped onions and fry till they turn transparent.
  3. 3

    Next add garlic paste ginger paste, finely chopped tomatoes, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, salt and finely chopped green chillies and mix well and add water.

    Add soaked split Bengal gram and mix well with the gravy.

    Also add chopped bottle gourd and and let the sabzi cook.

    Shape a tomato slice like a fan.
  7. 7

    Garnish the sabzi with coriander leaves and the fan shaped tomato slice.
  8. 8

    Serve hot in a plate.
