INGREDIENTS

  • ½ piece grated coconut
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • salt to taste
  • grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp whole white gram
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 1-2 green chillies

PREPARATION

    In a pan, combine grated coconut, jaggery and cardamom powder.

    Take water in a pot and add salt and rice flour to it, cook for some time and then make a dough.
  3. 3

    Make small balls of this dough and stuff the jaggery filling inside the balls. In another bowl, mix together rice flour and grated coconut and make small cylindrical shaped pidhi from it.

    Steam the pidhis and the jaggery balls.
  5. 5

    Prepare the tempering for pidhis with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies and whole white gram and spread it over the pidhis.

    Serve the pidhis hot with Koykatta.
