INGREDIENTS

  • FOR Syrup
  • Hot water
  • 1/2 cup jaggery
  • 1 tsp tamarind pulp
  • Water
  • FOR Batter
  • Few coriander leaves finely chopped; 2 green chillies chopped; 1/2 tsp Carom seeds; ½ tsp sesame seeds; 1 tsp coriander powder; ½ tsp asafoetida; 1 cup gram flour; Salt to taste; 1 tbsp coriander seeds crushed; Oil for brushing; 1 tbsp oil; Alsi chutney

HOW TO PREPARE KOTHIMBIR WADI

    For syrup combine jaggery, tamarind pulp, and boiled water in a pan and mix well.

    Transfer the syrup to a bowl , add water and salt and mix to dissolve salt.

    For the batter in a mixing bowl, combine chopped coriander, green chillies, carom seeds, sesame seeds, coriander powder, asafoetida, gram flour, salt, jaggery syrup, and crushed coriander seeds.

    Mix well.

    Brush oil on a plate and pour the batter.
  6. 6

    Steam kothimbir wadi for 15 min.
  7. 7

    Once steamed cool for some time and cut into pieces , In a pan, heat oil and add steamed wadi and roast.

    Serve kothimbir wadi with alsi chutney.
  9. 9

    Garnish with coriander sprigs.
