INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups gram flour
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger and chilli paste
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp fruit salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 10 curry leaves
  • A pinch of asafetida
  • 1/2 cup water

PREPARATION

    For the batter: In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, yogurt, lemon juice, warm water, salt, chilli and ginger paste, and turmeric powder.

    Mix them well.

    Then, add baking soda and fruit salt into the bowl.

    Make sure you mix them well to get a thick batter.

    Grease the container with oil and pour the batter into the container.

    Place the container in a steamer.

    Steam it for 10 minutes.

    For tempering: Heat oil in a saucepan.

    Add mustard seeds and sesame seeds.

    Saut� until the seeds start to crackle.

    Then, add curry leaves, asafoetida and water.

    Mix them well.

    Once the dhokla is ready, cut the dhokla into small pieces.

    Place it onto a plate.

    Pour the tempering over the dhoklas.
