  • 5 to 6 tbsp oil
  • 3 red chillies
  • dried
  • 1 cup onion paste
  • boiled
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • boiled
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • water
  • FOR Kathal Koftas
  • 1 cup chopped and boiled jackfruit
  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 tbsp condensed milk solids
  • ½ tsp chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • FOR Garnish
  • Fresh cream
  • chopped coriander

HOW TO PREPARE KATHAL KE KOFTE

    Take the jackfruit pieces in a big bowl and mash them well with a masher.
  2. 2

    Add the mashed and boiled potatoes and mix well.
  3. 3

    Add condensed milk solids, chopped green chillies, finely chopped coriander, cardamom powder, garam masala, red chilli powder and salt.

    Mix well again.
  5. 5

    For the koftas, take small portions of the mixture and make roundels of them.
  6. 6

    Heat oil in a pan and add the dried red chillies.
  7. 7

    Roast.
  8. 8

    Add boiled onion paste and fry till light the colour turns brown.
  9. 9

    Add ginger garlic paste, tomato paste, garam masala, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt.

    Mix well.

    Add the koftas to the gravy and mix well.
  12. 12

    Add some water and let the koftas cook.
  13. 13

    Garnish with fresh cream and chopped coriander.
  14. 14

    Serve the koftas hot.
