INGREDIENTS

  • 5 to 6 idlis cubed skewer sticks
  • 1 tsp oil
  • For Marinade 1 tsp red chilli paste
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 ½ tsp ginger paste
  • ½ tsp honey
  • 1 tsp tomato ketchup
  • ½ cup mixed bell pepper and onion cubed
  • 2 tsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp spring onion greens chopped
  • Crushed black pepper to taste
  • salt to taste

HOW TO PREPARE IDLI SHASHLIK

  1. 1

    Cut the idlis into small cubes.
  2. 2

    Mix the chopped idlis with red chilli paste, oil, ginger paste, honey, tomato sauce, crushed black pepper, and salt.
  3. 3

    Add chopped mixed bell peppers and onion cubes chopped coriander, and chopped spring onion greens.
  4. 4

    Mix gently and set aside.
  5. 5

    On the skewer sticks, arrange the idlis and vegetables (onions and bell peppers).
  6. 6

    Heat oil in a pan and sear the idlis shashliks.
  7. 7

    Serve the idlis on the skewer sticks on a banana leaf.
