INGREDIENTS

  • 2 idlis
  • Skewer sticks
  • cherry tomatoes
  • For Sandwich Stuffing : 2 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp chopped onion
  • 7 to 8 curry leaves
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • 8 to 10 marinated prawns
  • 1 cup green bell peppers
  • 1 tbsp coconut milk 1cup cucumber sliced
  • 1 tsp chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp mint chopped
  • lemon juice
  • Crushed black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • For Sauce:1 tbsp coconut milk
  • 1 tsp chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • ½ tsp saffron strands
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp oil
  • black salt to taste
  • For Garnish: Sliced cucumber

HOW TO PREPARE IDLI PRAWN SANDWICH

    Wash and clean the prawns.
  2. 2

    Marinate them with a little lemon juice and salt for ten minutes.
  3. 3

    Heat a little oil in a pan to prepare the stuffing for the sandwich.
  4. 4

    Saute chopped garlic chopped onion, a few curry leaves, a pinch of turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
  5. 5

    Add the marinated prawns to the mixture, followed by some chopped green bell peppers, coconut milk, a pinch of salt and sliced cucumber.

    Once you add cucumber do not cook for too long.
  7. 7

    Sprinkle chopped coriander and mint on top of it.
  8. 8

    Mix gently with some crushed black pepper and lemon juice.
  9. 9

    Slice the idlis in half.
  10. 10

    Place the stuffing on one half and cover it with the other half.
  11. 11

    Pierce the stuffed idlis and cherry tomato with a skewer stick.
  12. 12

    For the sauce for the idli, take some coconut milk in a bowl.
  13. 13

    Add chopped coriander chopped garlic, some saffron strands, a little lemon juice, red chilli flakes, a few drops of oil and black salt.
